Held across two days on 30 and 31 March 2023 by Gobi Partners in collaboration with UN Women, Asia Gender-Smart Investing Workshop (AGI Workshop 2023) brought together private sector industry leaders from around Asia to promote the adoption of gender lens in investment decision-making and DEI integration for startups.
The AGI Workshop aimed to create more sustainable companies through diversity and providing opportunities for women to unlock their full potential both as entrepreneurs and in the workplace.
The workshop was a continuation of Gobi’s Asia Gender-Smart Investing Forum held in 2021 and further underlined the Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs), which promote gender equality in the entrepreneurial and professional landscape. In accordance with the International Women’s Day 2023 theme of ‘DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality’, AGI 2023 stressed that technology should be an enabler for women to improve their lives for the better as gender-smart investing seeks to intentionally and measurably use investment decisions to address gender disparities.
AGI 2023 served as the finale for Gobi’s month-long celebration of women entrepreneurs starting with articles about its women founders across its social media platforms and a sharing and networking session co-hosted by HSBC celebrating diversity in finance and tech in Hong Kong on 27 March.
