Syafiq is a member of the investment team at Gobi, where he focuses on early-stage, impact, and growth investments in the ASEAN region.

He initially worked as an Ernst & Young (EY) associate, specialising in valuation, modelling, and economic strategy. His role involved handling projects that involved multinational companies and government-linked entities. In early 2022, he transitioned to venture capital and joined the Hibiscus Fund, a collaboration between RHL Ventures, KB Investment, and Penjana Kapital. At the Hibiscus Fund, he served as an investment analyst, primarily covering investment opportunities in Malaysia and Vietnam.

Syafiq holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Actuarial Science from Bayes Business School London. As of August 2022, he has also completed two levels of the CFA program.
